Heavy tanks are heavily armored tanks with extremely powerful armaments. Because of their increased armor, they are slow and have a large silhouette when compared to light tanks. They can perform well in close-quarters with their armor absorbing enemy shots. Eventually, the development of modern HEAT-FS and APDS render their heavy armor obsolete.
