Heavy tanks are a class of tanks (weighing more than 50 t) generally sacrificing their mobility in exchange for a greater firepower. Due to the increase in armor thickness, they're slower and vulnerable in flanking compared to medium and light tanks. They perform well in CQC with their armor absorbing even the most powerful blows. Eventually, the development of modern HEAT-FS and APDS render their heavy armor useless.
